For one year, Vajda-Papír will supply the institutions of the Charity Service's opportunity-creating children's programs with hygienic paper products.

Vajda-Papír helps thousands of children in need with a product donation sufficient for a year through the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta. As part of the cooperation that has been going on for years, the market-leading manufacturer of hygiene paper products in Hungary is connected with the charity's opportunity-creating children's programs with the current donation.

Father Imre Kozma, the founding president of the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta, received the donation worth more than HUF 30 million and 10 tons on June 25, at the Maltese Playground in Zemplén Győző Street. The company's employees themselves took part in the renovation of the playground as volunteers.

Attila Vajda, the founder and managing director of Vajda-Papír, said when handing over the donation that 6,000 disadvantaged children are provided with hygiene paper products for a year in the national network of the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta.

In addition to the product donation, the company's employees also help with the renovation of the playground with their volunteer work. He praised the work of the Charity Service, embracing and supporting the needy. He believed that helping disadvantaged people, families, and children is a common social obligation, which is why they have been involved in the charity organization's programs for the fifth year. Attila Vajda also emphasized that the company's management focuses on strengthening social responsibility and sustainability. He pointed out: "at Vajda-Papír, sustainability is an integral part of all our decisions, which is why it is important for us to draw the attention of our customers and their colleagues to keeping our environment in order and protecting it. Part of this initiative is voluntary work, the rehabilitation of playgrounds, and the beautification of our functional environment". He added that creativity and sustainability are characteristic of the company's production processes, which also comply with the most modern ESG guidelines, and therefore they wanted to put a lot of emphasis on this in their social responsibility as well. The Charity Service operates kindergartens and primary schools for underprivileged children through the opportunity creator's children's programs. The Playground Program creates and maintains social playhouses. In their playgrounds and playhouses at 15 locations across the country, more than 3,000 children can spend their free time in a safe environment with games and developmental activities.

The Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta School Foundation maintains 20 educational institutions - 8 kindergartens, 7 schools, 4 vocational training institutions and one development school - in which more than 4,300 children complete their studies. In their network of foster parents, which has been operating for more than twenty years, 105 foster parents in 12 counties raise 285 children, including many children with disabilities and cumulative injuries.

Father Imre Kozma said: the current support of Vajda-Papír is recognition of their work so far and helps them gather strength for their future services. "It's impressive to see how many others can join a helping hand, strengthening our efforts. I am particularly pleased that the employees of Vajda-Papír participate in the beautification of the playgrounds with voluntary work. Volunteering not only contributes to the health and strengthening of the individual, but also of society," he said, and expressed his hope that more and more companies will support the work of charitable organizations.

He recalled that the Playground Program was started in 1998 by the volunteers and staff of the Charity Service with the aim of offering children living in housing estates a valuable after-school activity. In this way, a community space was created in playgrounds and playhouses for playing together, getting to know each other, and talking. "The game is a tool that brings people, adults and children closer to each other, thus helping the development of trusting relationships and supporting children's mental health. It is very important not to let young people get lost, to organize programs for them and to embrace their independent initiatives," he said.

He emphasized that he considers the company group's mission to be the promotion of donor culture in Hungary to be an example to follow. He reminded that the cooperation between Vajda-Papír and the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta began in 2020.

The corporate group provided thousands of underprivileged children with hygienic paper products in the spring of 2021 through the social and health network of the charitable organization. And in the fall of 2021, it supplied hundreds of disadvantaged families, thousands of people with disabilities in 2022, and thousands of people living in elderly care in 2023, with enough hygiene paper products for a year. As in previous years, the charity event is the Ooops! could be realized through cooperation with customers and partners. Vajda-Papír is grateful for the customer support for those in need.
