At the awards showcasing premium Hungarian brands the Ooops! brand as well as its manufacturer, Vajda Papír Kft. have been awarded the MagyarBrands prize for 2014, for the second time in two consecutive years. This award recognizes both the Ooops! consumer brand and Vajda Papír Kft. as a corporate brand reaffirming our commitment to continuous development, satisfying the needs of customers and using environmentally friendly, cutting-edge technologies in the operation of our business. It was the fifth time that a distinguished panel of professionals selected those companies and brands for the award which can represent Hungarian businesses, and promote premium brands. Remarkably Ooops! and Vajda Papír have been awarded this prize for the third time.

We are happy to announce that Vajda Papír Kft. has been co-opted into a select, exclusive club of companies that are eligible to use the Superbrands prize: the success and achievements of the company earned it the Business Superbrands award. The Superbrands organization founded in the United Kingdom in 1995, and launched in Hungary ten years ago, has by now become one of the most prestigious business awards. Today it is not only recognized in the field of marketing and communication, but it is a trademark the general public recognizes as well. A panel of 14 judges representing the industry decided who the award should go to; the panel consisted of executives of leading companies, as well as well-known communication gurus.

The company had the pleasure to be awarded the MagyarBrands prize for its Ooops! consumer brand as well as for Vajda Papír Kft as a corporate brand in 2013. Each of these awards in itself means great recognition, and the Ooops! brand received the award in the consumer brand category prior to this, in two consecutive years (in 2011 and 2012). The fact that the company received accolade in two categories at the same time provides positive feedback not only from a professional aspect but also from the consumer’s side. The professionals at MagyarBrands awarded these prizes – for the fourth consecutive year in 2013 – to Hungarian brands that can represent Hungarian businesses on the domestic market as well as abroad to the highest degree.

Product of the Year 2013

After 2012, Vajda Papír Kft. brought down the house again at the Product of the Year award in 2013. In 2013 it was the Ooops! three-ply tissue pack of 100 family that gained the approval of consumers. The Product of the Year award, which is currently given in 29 countries, is a consumer-voted award. Manufacturers and distributors can enter products in the categories of household care, personal care and food representing the FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) industry and innovative solutions. The winner by category is selected in two-step process, first a jury of industry professionals reviews the products, and then the consumers have their say.

It gave us at the company enormous pleasure when in 2011, the first year of the award in Hungary, Ooops! Sensitive and Premium toilet paper was chosen as the winner in its category. It was a great honour, especially since it was based on a consumer survey conducted by Gfk Hungária, in which a representative sample of 2000 respondents completed a questionnaire. In the Product of the Year programme the following criteria are looked at: innovation, novelty of the products, their content, active substance and packaging.

The independent jury of industry professionals awarded the MagyarBrands prize to the Ooops! brand of Vajda Papír Kft. in 2012, which is a prestigious award in the life of the company. The winner is selected through the normal competition process and selection by the Superbrands Council, and aims to give the Superbrands status to Hungarian companies that can represent Hungary in a way that gives the country prestige in the international arena. Receiving this accolade in two consecutive years is an important milestone in branding for the company.

MagyarBrands was launched by Superbrands Council Hungary in 2010 in order to pay tribute to and increase awareness about the most significant Hungarian brands. Vajda-Papír Kft. was first given this award in 2011, which is a great achievement for the company, since it is based on criteria related to management, tradition, ownership and reputation. It is recognition for Vajda Papír Kft. which will reassure customers about the reliability of the company.

The company won the Pegazus award in 2009 and then in 2010 as well, which is a great recognition and at the same time achievement for Vajda Papír Kft. Being awarded the prize in two successive years by the founders, is the proof not only that in spite of the dire economic situation and harsh conditions the company managed to continue growing, but that it performed above and beyond expectations.
